Umm.. I don't how to better tell you this, but he's taking a pictuer of someone/something else as you can see from the lens pointing outward.
Even in the 2nd picture you posted, if you look at the viewfinder you can't see his face which would be an indicating that he's just admiring the Carl Zeiss lens on that Sony T-series digital camera.
